Rockin’ around the Pumpkin Patch” (50′s rock and roll) will be the theme of the 23rdd Annual Pumpkinfest to be held in Anamosa on Saturday, October 1st, 2011 in conjunction with the Ryan Norlin GIANT Pumpkin Weigh-off. The theme was chosen to reflect the fun and flair of the 50′s in a rural town on a “Rockin’ Saturday night” .Pumpkinfest has focused on providing an affordable, entertaining day for families. Events include: Kids Games, Parade, Food and Craft Vendors, Pumpkin Carving Exhibition, Horse Shoe Contest, Golf and Bowling Tournaments, Chili Cook-off and the ever popular Big Wheel Races. All of this centered around the Weigh-off Competition at the Lawrence Community Center where Pumpkins in excess of 1,000 pounds will be weighed (the 2009 champion weighed 1,622 pounds!)
