Anamosa Pumpkinfest Chili Cook-Off

Have your appetites ready for the Chili Cook-Off

Date: Saturday, October 1st 2011
Location: Corner of Davis & Main Street

Registration: 8:00 am

Time: Tasting at 12:00 – Judging at 1:30 pm

Cooks Need:

1. Table (preferably heavier than a card table)

2. Cooking Utensils

3. Gas Cook Stove (electricity will be available)

4. Large Cooking Pot

5. Ingredients for medium batch of Chile. Taster cups will be sold with all proceeds going to the Community Health Free Clinic.

6. $5.00 Registration Fee

7. Box of Saltine Crackers

Instructions:

1. Cook-off will be held on Saturday, October 1, 2011, at the corner of Davis and Main Street

2. Registration is at 8:00. There is a $5.00 registration fee, which is paid out 100% to the winner of the judging for best tasting chili.

3. Chili may be either cooked on site or made ahead of time and brought in a crock pot or roaster. Each participant will need to provide their own work area and clean up after themselves. Taster cups and spoons will be provided.

4. Tasting will begin at 11:00 a.m.. Taster cups will be sold for $2.00 each. Hotdogs/chili dogs will be sold for $1.00. Bottled water will be sold for $1.00.

5. Ballots will be counted, and the winner of the best tasting chili will be announced at 1:00 p.m.

6. Cleanup will begin at 1:00 p.m.

7. Proceeds from selling taster cups and hotdogs/chili dogs will benefit the free clinic.

1. Taster Cups and small spoons

2. Sandwich boats and napkins for Chili Dogs

3. Voting slips for drawing
